A roleplay thread is really like a story, but everyone contributes lines to it. Everyone in the roleplay are the authors, but noone knows where the roleplay will turn, because with everyone together, the whole roleplay can change. While roleplaying, you choose a character and basically act as that character, but you talk in third person. However, you control your character's actions, words, and emotions. Sometimes there'll be extra characters that anyone can roleplay as, too. Here's an example of roleplaying: This roleplay consists of dogs and cats. Person 1(Character is Fluffy): Fluffy puffed up her long creamy-white fur to look larger than normal. She hissed at the tresspassing dog, terrified. Some dogs were friendly, but she never knew which kind would be harmful. Person 2(character is Bud): Bud backed away and whimpered. He didn't mean to scare the cat at all. He was just looking for a home. He jumped back. "Sorry," Bud whimpered, "I didn't mean to scare you."
Get it now? It'll be cconfusing at first but for help ask fellow roleplayers for ideas and just read over people's roleplay posts. also,if talking to someone while not roleplaying, use "OOC" whch means out of character. When talking in the roleplay again, use "IC" in character. Example: OOC: How big is your character? Overall, is it a large breed? IC: Fluffy still was wary and backed away. "what do you want?" she growled.
